How to Create 3D Text With the Extrude Tool in CorelDRAW

First, create the text that you want and select it. Then find the icon with a 3D box on the left tool panel. From there, click on the Extrude tool.

Then click and drag the text to create a basic 3D effect.

And that’s it. Your text is now 3D. Let’s show you how to make it pop…

How to Customize Your 3D Text

After applying the 3D effect, you can find a couple of additional options in the Property bar.

There are six Extrusion type options that you can choose from, depending on what kind of 3D effect you are going for.

The next option is the Extrusion depth. You can adjust the depth by clicking on the arrows, or you can click on the blue line on the extrude arrow and adjust the depth manually instead.

The Extrude rotation option allows you to rotate the direction of the extrusion by rotating the red 3 (as shown in the picture below).

If you want to add more details to your 3D text, you can do that with Extrusion color. There are three options you can work with:

Use Object Fill will make everything the same color. Use Solid Color allows you to color the extruded areas a different color. Use Color Shading allows you to make a gradient from one color to the other.

The Extrusion lighting option allows you to apply light and shadows from three different angles by clicking on the three numbers below the ball.

If you are unhappy with how your text turned out, and you wish to delete any extrude effects, simply click on Clear Extrude.

If you’d rather use another program, we show you how to create 3D text in Blender and Photoshop.

Creating 3D Text in CorelDRAW Is Easy

The Extrude tool in CorelDRAW allows you to create and manipulate 3D text however you want. By following this guide, you should end up with a pretty cool-looking 3D text.

Of course, CorelDRAW is not the only program where you can add a 3D effect to your text. If you want to create a more complex 3D text effect, Photoshop and Blender are great choices.
