Creating a WhatsApp Broadcast List
WhatsApp allows for the creation of as many Broadcast Lists as you like. However, it places a limit of 256 contacts on each list.
Here’s how to create a WhatsApp Broadcast List.
Open the WhatsApp app on your iPhone or Android smartphone and tap Chats. On iPhone, tap Broadcast Lists. On Android, tap More Options. On iPhone, tap New List. On Android, tap New Broadcast. Select the contacts you want to add to your WhatsApp Broadcast List by tapping the circles next to their names on the Recipients screen. If you have yet to add contacts to WhatsApp, do that first. If you have a lot of contacts, you can search for who you need by name using the Search bar at the top of the screen. Tap Create on the Recipients screen to generate a Broadcast List containing the names of the people you selected. Type your first message in the screen that opens. ,If you’re not ready to send a message yet, tap the back button to return to the Recipients page to create a new list or edit the one you just made.
How to Edit Your WhatsApp Broadcast List
Once you create a Broadcast List in WhatsApp, it will save as a list for you to use at any time in the future. You can give it a name, add contacts to it, or delete it if you like.
Renaming Your WhatsApp Broadcast List
You can give your list a name and change it as many times as you like.
Here’s how to change the name of your Broadcast List on WhatsApp.
Tap the info icon next to the Broadcast List you want to edit. Tap the field that says List name to enter a custom name for your WhatsApp Broadcast List. Tap Enter on your keyboard to confirm the change.
How to Add Contacts to a Broadcast List on WhatsApp
If you’ve forgotten to add someone to a Broadcast List, you can add them later. You can also remove people if you so choose.
To add or remove contacts on iPhone, simply tap Edit list and select or deselect contact names.
If you’re using an Android smartphone, tap Add Recipient to add contacts to the list. To remove a contact on Android, tap Edit Recipients, put an x by the contacts you want to remove, then tap the checkmark.
How to Broadcast Messages to Your WhatsApp Broadcast List
Sending a WhatsApp broadcast to your Broadcast List is straightforward and works pretty much the same as sending a regular message to a single contact.
All you need to do is tap on your WhatsApp Broadcast List name, type your message, and tap the send icon.
Deleting a WhatsApp Broadcast List
Deleting a Broadcast List on WhatsApp can be done whenever you like and only takes a few seconds. Be careful though as once the list is deleted, you won’t be able to get it back.
Here’s how you can remove a Broadcast List from your WhatsApp account.
To delete a list on iPhone, swipe left on the name of the list you want to delete from the Broadcast Lists screen. Tap Delete when it appears. To do the same on Android, tap Broadcast List > Delete.
